Official programme for the state funeral of the late godfrey l. Binaisa, former president of the republic of uganda
The National Organising Committee set up to oversee the State Funeral for the former President Godfrey L. Binaisa Q.C. has released a formal programme for his burial. The Committee chaired by the Rt. Hon, 2nd Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service, Government Ministers, officials and representatives of the family, sitting in the Ministry of Public Service on Friday, 6th August 2010,agreed to the following programme: |

Government to declare a mourning period with effect from Saturday, 7th August 2010. National Flags to fly at half mast during the mourning period. Saturday, 7th August 2010 Arrival of family members from the United Kingdom and United States of America.
Monday, 9th August 2010. 3:00 p.m. Body leaves Mulago Hospital for Parliament where a guard of honour will be staged. Overnight vigil.
Tuesday, 10th August 2010. 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Signing of condolence book Paying of last respects. 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Special session of Parliament 4:30 p.m. Body leaves Parliament for family Residence. Overnight vigil Wednesday, 11th August 2010 9:00 a.m. State Funeral Service at Namirembe Cathedral 1:00 p.m. Burial of late former President.
