The Ministry of Public Service supported Fifteen (15) Management Analysts to undertake a Training Course to Professionalize in Management Services Practice. The four (4) week training was conducted at the Civil Service College Uganda – Jinja from 13th November to 8th December, 2017.
Ian Winstanley and Richard Easton were the instructors having been procured from Scott-Grant Limited – Manchester (UK), a renowned and approved training provider for the Institute of Management Services (IMS) – UK. Scott-Grant Limited registered by IMS – UK as a Management Services Practitioner, has proven experience in delivering the IMS – UK Courses and other Productivity Courses with expertise in Productivity Foundation and Analysis, Time Study and Work Measurement, Developing Lean Environment and Management Systems Design and Re-Engineering.
The course included the following modules; Method Study; Lean Principles; Work Measurement and Time Study. The training methodology included Study and analysis of different modules both theoretically and practically, review of relevant literature, Classroom training and course work; presentations and discussions; team work; assessment tests and finally a certification examination.
At the end of the training, a thorough assessment of the trainees was carried out, an awarding ceremony was conducted where the Management Analysts were awarded with certificates upon their successful completion of the course. Each of the trainees was presented with an IMS Certificate, which is an internationally recognized qualification for Management Services Practitioners; Scott-Grant Certificates for the four Modules undertaken; a Certified Performance Rating Card for having undertaken performance rating and time study assessment examinations and a recognition as Associate Management Services Members (AMS).
The training was intended to equip Management Analysts in Uganda with professional skills and competencies in the practice of Management Services.
