The Department is headed by Mr. Fred Ojok, Ag. Commissioner – Public Service Inspection.
Mandate of the Department
The Department contributes to strengthening accountability for results across Government and responsiveness to citizens’ needs in the public service performance management system.
Commitments of the Department include;
- Monitoring and inspecting levels of compliance to policies, standards and systems in every MDA and LG as and when the need arises.
- Designing and conducting tailor-made training for Inspectors in MDAs once every quarter.
- Conducting meeting for key Inspectorate Agencies at least once every Quarter (4-months).
- Developing and administering community scorecard to selected communities bi-annually to obtain feedback on the state of the services delivered.
- Administering the Pearl of Africa Institution Performance Assessment Scorecard (PAIPAS) to reward
excelling performance and addressing administrative malpractices at least once in 2-years for each MDA and LG. - Acknowledging receipt of complaints on administrative malpractices within 10-working days and providing feedback within 1-month.
- Conducting National Service Delivery Survey (NSDS) in liaison with UBOS once in every 4-years.
- Disseminating the 2021 NSDS results to all MDAs and LGs by FY 2022/2023.
- Producing and disseminating inspection reports within 2-months from the date of inspection.
- Providing technical support in the development, documentation, and application of service delivery standards in each MDA and LG annually.
- Continually conducting e-inspection for every MDA and LG entities.
- Producing inspection and compliance reports on service delivery standards once every year.

Service Delivery Standards
The Ministry documented and validated service delivery standards for nine (9) key services, including
- Education,
- Water and Environment,
- Health,
- Water and Environment,
- Works and Transport,
- Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries,
- Land, Housing and Urban Development, and
- Social Development.
Furthermore, supports MDAs and LGs in developing and documenting their service delivery standards.
Additionally, the Ministry conducted inspections in 203 MDAs and LGs to assess compliance, leading to an increase in adherence to service delivery standards
