The Minister of Public Service, Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa, together with the State Minister for Higher Education, Hon. John Chrysestom Muyingo, and key stakeholders, convened a meeting at NRCA to present, discuss, and agree on the way forward regarding a report on the impact of salary enhancement on the motivation, performance, and retention of secondary school teachers in Uganda. The discussion highlighted several key findings, including growing dissatisfaction among Arts teachers, rising applications for early retirement from Science teachers whose salaries were enhanced, declining commitment and productivity among some secondary school teachers, and instances where teachers are hiring private tutors to cover their lessons. The report was developed through a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Public Service and Makerere University

The Hon. Minister of State for Public Service, Mrs. Mary Grace Mugasa, officiated at the Public Sector Transformation Programme Budget Conference organized by the Ministry of Public Service at the National Records and Archives Centre today.
