Day One Training on Transformational Leadership Development Course at Auditorium Building of MoPS Staff at NALI on 14th February, 2022

The participants started day one with an aptitude test on Transformational Leadership Development course. The test was drawn from the current affairs of Uganda and East Africa at large.

The State Minister of Public Service, Mrs. Mugasa Grace Mary welcomed the participants and reminded the participants on corruption and the NDP111 during service delivery. She officially opened the training of MOPS staff on transformational leadership development course which is running till 25th February 2022.

Brig. Gen. Charles Kisembo, the Director NALI, gave a brief history about the institute and informed the participants that NALI is connected to the NRA bush war and it reminds many of those brave men and women who gave in their lives for the liberation of this country.

The participants were also trained on the parts of an AK 47 and SMG machine gun and how to handle it. It was from this training the participants knew that both guns are common.

  • The Minister of Public Service, Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa, officiated at the opening of a two-day Regional Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF) sensitization workshop for Western Region, at Las Vegas Hotel in Mbarara City. The workshop is taking place from 12th to 13th March 2026, bringing together key stakeholders from LGs, Cities/municipalities, Hospitals to deepen understanding and preparedness ahead of the Fund’s operationalization. This sensitization marks the end of the preparations for the establishment and rollout of the Public Service Pension Fund in July 2026. The next one planned sensitization is for the members of parliament scheduled for next quarter.

  • Swahili learning sessions are ongoing every Tuesday morning in the MOPS Main Boardroom. All Heads of Department and staff are encouraged to attend and actively participate. The purpose of these sessions is to equip staff with practical Swahili language skills and strengthen interpersonal communication.

  • A consultative meeting held at the Ministry of Public Service between the Minister of Public Service and the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries to discuss the proposed structure size of MAAIF and address concerns relating to the remuneration of staff affected by the Rationalization of Government Agencies and Public Expenditure (RAPEX) reforms.

  • Rev. Florence T. Muhwezi, led MOPS fellowship session held at MOPS main boardroom, to seek Spiritual Renewal and Divine Guidance in this lent season.

  • The Permanent Secretary- MoPS, together with representatives from the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, convened a meeting with all teachers’ unions to discuss the issues affecting them, particularly the salary enhancement, with the aim of averting the planned industrial action.

  • The Ministry of Public Service convened a consultative meeting with all records cadres in service to review the Draft Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) and the National Records and Archives Management Policy and Regulations. Held at the National Records Centre and Archives Boardroom, the meeting is aimed at collecting stakeholders’ input, which is critical for the validation of these documents.

  • The Ministry of Public Service received 30 desktop computers and related accessories from the Contractor, New Wave Technologies Ltd, with support from REAP–MoFPED, in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). The computers were officially received on behalf of the Ministry by the Undersecretary, Ministry of Public Service, Mr. Irumba Rogers Kaija. The computers will support the ongoing rollout of the online system for tracking the level of adoption and compliance with Service Delivery Standards. The equipment will be distributed to 30 Local Governments, namely: Mbale, Tororo, Butaleja, Budaka, Mayuge, Bugiri, Buikwe, Butambala, Mpigi, Mityana, Kibaale, Kagadi, Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Kitagwenda, Ibanda, Kanungu, Kisoro, Kabale, Apac, Lira, Gulu, Pader, Otuke, Abim, Kotido, Nebbi, Pakwach, Madi Okollo, and Zombo. The distribution aims to operationalize the system at district level and strengthen monitoring and compliance with Service Delivery Standards across Local Governments.
