The Minister of Public Service, Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa, officiated at the opening of a two-day Regional Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF) sensitization workshop for Western Region, at Las Vegas Hotel in Mbarara City. The workshop is taking place from 12th to 13th March 2026, bringing together key stakeholders from LGs, Cities/municipalities, Hospitals to deepen understanding and preparedness ahead of the Fund’s operationalization. This sensitization marks the end of the preparations for the establishment and rollout of the Public Service Pension Fund in July 2026. The next one planned sensitization is for the members of parliament scheduled for next quarter.

The Chairperson for the Technical Sub Committee, Mr. Robert Ssaka, has chaired an Inaugural meeting for the design, implementation and commissioning of Pension Fund Management System(PFMS) for the Public Service Pension Fund. The committee comprises members from Ministry of Public Service, NITA-U, URBRA, Ministry of ICT and NSSF. A high level draft roadmap has been developed to guide the actions of the committee.
