CSCU Hosts Gambian Delegation on Benchmarking Visit
This afternoon, Civil Service College Uganda hosted a delegation from The Gambia, currently in Uganda to undertake a due diligence assessment of the company that developed Uganda’s Human Capital Management (HCM) System, having been awarded the contract to implement a similar system for The Gambia.
The delegation, led by Mr. Pateh Jah, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Service, also visited CSCU in Jinja City to learn about its role in the development of the HCM System and to understand the operations and mandate of the College.
The visit also provided a benchmarking opportunity following The Gambia’s recent transformation of one of its institutions into a Civil Service University.
Ms. Savia Mugwanya, Commissioner CSCU, explained that the College was established to strengthen the capacity of public servants beyond the structural and institutional systems of government. She noted that the College delivers both mandatory and tailor-made training programmes. The delegation also learned about CSCU’s contribution to the development of the HCM System by hosting the project team during the system’s development.
The delegation was later taken on a guided tour of the College.
