The Government of Uganda, through the Public Sector Transformation Programme (PSTP) Secretariat, has intensified efforts to improve the quality and consistency of performance reporting across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
This follows a comprehensive review of quarterly submissions for the Financial Year 2025/26 under the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV). The review, conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Department, revealed several gaps and inconsistencies in the data submitted through the National Monitoring and Evaluation System.
In response, the PSTP Secretariat has convened a Programme Working Group meeting aimed at addressing these challenges and enhancing the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of performance reporting across government institutions.
As part of the initiative, all Votes have been requested to submit their consolidated Annual Performance Report.
Officials emphasize that improving reporting standards is critical for tracking progress, ensuring accountability, and supporting evidence-based decision-making in the implementation of national development priorities. The move is expected to strengthen transparency and improve service delivery outcomes across the public sector.
