Establishment of the Institutional Research Agenda Development Taskforce

by Lawrence Engwenyu / 30 July 2026 / Published in Featured, General, News

The Ministry of Public Service Uganda has officially established an Institutional Research Agenda Development Taskforce aimed at strengthening research coordination and aligning it with national development priorities.
The taskforce will play a key role in shaping the Ministry’s long-term research direction by identifying knowledge gaps, coordinating stakeholder engagements, and ensuring that all research activities support Uganda’s broader socioeconomic transformation agenda.
According to the Terms of Reference, the team will:
Review existing research priorities within the Ministry
Align research with key government strategies such as ATMS and national research frameworks
Develop a comprehensive Institutional Research Agenda, including funding strategies
Engage stakeholders across government and relevant sectors
Validate and finalize the research agenda for approval
This initiative underscores the Ministry’s commitment to evidence-based policymaking, improved service delivery, and strategic planning.
The Institutional Research Agenda will be reviewed every five years to ensure it remains relevant to emerging policy issues and national priorities.
This move is expected to enhance innovation, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery across Uganda.
