he Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF) Special Taskforce, chaired by the Principal Communications Officer, Mr. Asavia Philip Nampandu, convened today in the HCM Training room to advance preparations for the Communication Strategy and IEC materials. The meeting reviewed key document analysis with a focus on critical issues, stakeholder interests and concerns, proposed messaging, communication channels, and planned engagements with selected pension schemes, among other areas.

The PS/MOPS, Catherine Bitarakwate Musingwiire (Mrs), chaired an SMT meeting in which members from Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development made a presentation in which they requested the ministry to assist in developing and implementing a skilled workforce strategy, develop a structure of Uganda National Nuclear Company, enhance Nuclear Department’s Capacity and collaborate with the Ministry of Energy on strategies for attracting, training and retaining qualified personnel for nuclear sector. Also members from Makerere University made a presentation on integrity scale and non-verbal interview tool.

The Ministry of Public Service, MOFPED, MOE, MoLG and MoGLSD, met with members of the Uganda Local Government Worker’s Union at Ministry head quarter, to discuss grievances raised by the Union. These include salary enhancement, Non-compliance on check off regulations, failure by ROs to remit Union deductions and their intentions to carry out an industrial action.

The Chairperson for the Technical Sub Committee, Mr. Robert Ssaka, has chaired an Inaugural meeting for the design, implementation and commissioning of Pension Fund Management System(PFMS) for the Public Service Pension Fund. The committee comprises members from Ministry of Public Service, NITA-U, URBRA, Ministry of ICT and NSSF. A high level draft roadmap has been developed to guide the actions of the committee.

A meeting to discuss the draft Productivity Measurement Framework was held on 7th August 2025 at the National Records Centre and Archives (NRCA). The framework is being developed through a partnership between the Ministry of Public Service and Makerere University Research and Innovations Fund (RIF), with the Department of Management Services providing technical counterpart support to the lead consultancy team from Makerere University. The meeting was attended by technical departments of the Ministry of Public Service, along with representatives from key stakeholder institutions, including the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD), the National Planning Authority (NPA), and the Makerere University Business School (MUBS), among others.
