REGIONAL SENSITIZATION ON THE PUBLIC SERVICE PENSION FUND (PSPF)

by Allan Tumuhimbise / 03 November 2025 / Published in Featured, General, News

The Ministry of Public Service, through the Department of Compensation, is conducting a sensitization campaign focused on the upcoming Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF). A central region workshop took place at Hotel Africana from August 27 to 28, 2025, which gathered key stakeholders, including Senior Consultants from Regional Referral Hospitals, Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), Town Clerks of Cities and Municipalities, and Heads of Human Resource Management from various districts.
During the opening remarks, the Minister of Public Service, Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa, highlighted the importance of the Fund, noting that it would help reduce payment delays for pensioners and enhance financial security for workers. The workshops aim to help stakeholders understand the reasons behind the reform of the current Public Service Pension Scheme and to garner their support for transitioning to a funded contributory scheme that ensures sustainability and security for public officers after retirement.
