The three-day Mentorship Training for Senior Academic Staff of Kabale University, jointly organised by Kabale University and the Civil Service College Uganda was successfully concluded this evening.
The training was officially closed by the Deputy Head of Public Service in charge of Performance and Service Delivery, Ms. Jane Kyarisiima Mwesigwa, who commended the University for institutionalising mentorship. She emphasized that structured mentorship is key to strengthening leadership development and succession planning.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Ben Kumumanya, called for stronger collaboration between Universities and Government through research, innovation, and knowledge sharing to support national development.
Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sabiti Makara, Chief of Graduate Training, appreciated the facilitators for the practical sessions.
The Chief, Human Resource Management at the University Mr. Samson Olum, noted that CSCU consistently meets the University’s expectations, which is why it remains a trusted capacity-building partner.
The engagement also generated inputs for the Draft Mentorship Policy of Kabale University.
