The Minister of Public Service Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa has inaugurated the Interim Board of Trustees of the Public Service Pension Fund, marking another key milestone in the operationalisation of the Fund. During the ceremony, members of the Interim Board were sworn in before a Magistrate and took the Oath of Office, Oath of Secrecy and Oath of Allegiance. The ceremony, held at the Ministry of Public Service Main Boardroom, formally ushered in the Board to provide strategic oversight and guidance as preparations for the Fund’s implementation continue.

The Chairperson for the Technical Sub Committee, Mr. Robert Ssaka, has chaired an Inaugural meeting for the design, implementation and commissioning of Pension Fund Management System(PFMS) for the Public Service Pension Fund. The committee comprises members from Ministry of Public Service, NITA-U, URBRA, Ministry of ICT and NSSF. A high level draft roadmap has been developed to guide the actions of the committee.
The Minister of Public Service, Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa, together with the State Minister for Higher Education, Hon. John Chrysestom Muyingo, and key stakeholders, convened a meeting at NRCA to present, discuss, and agree on the way forward regarding a report on the impact of salary enhancement on the motivation, performance, and retention of secondary school teachers in Uganda. The discussion highlighted several key findings, including growing dissatisfaction among Arts teachers, rising applications for early retirement from Science teachers whose salaries were enhanced, declining commitment and productivity among some secondary school teachers, and instances where teachers are hiring private tutors to cover their lessons. The report was developed through a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Public Service and Makerere University
