The Ministry of Public Service has conducted a one-day induction training for newly recruited interns, aimed at equipping them with essential knowledge on the Ministry’s code of conduct, institutional culture, and professional expectations.
During the session, interns were guided through the key dos and don’ts required while serving in the Ministry, with emphasis placed on integrity, discipline, and adherence to public service values.
Representing the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kaija urged the interns to embrace the learning opportunity and uphold the image of the Ministry. He noted that many interns join the institution with varying expectations and perceptions, some of which may be inaccurate or misleading. He therefore encouraged them to remain open-minded, professional, and committed to learning.
The Commissioner for Records and Information Management (RIM), Madam Aliso, also addressed the interns and led them through the administration of the oath of secrecy, underscoring the importance of confidentiality and responsible handling of official information.
The induction marks a significant step in preparing the interns for their roles within the Ministry, ensuring they align with its standards and contribute positively to public service delivery.
